Hi sgreggan,
Is this while creating a download backup?
Can you try excluding the filesystem and see if it works?
The process that comes after the filesystem completed is to build the final backup file. I can provide a trace version in a while to see if we can locate the problem.
Regards,
Jason
Yes, it occures while a download backup.
Excluding the FS works fine!
Hi sgreggan,
Can you try using our latest version which you can download here:
https://wordpress.backup-technology.com/wponlinebackup-623-multisite.zip
It adds multisite support and a few other fixes. See if it works for you. You’ll need to uninstall and manually install this new version.
Regards,
Jason
I’ve tried it, but I get the same error…
It times out after the filesystem backup is completed…
Hi sgreggan,
With the 623-multisite I gave you earlier, can you go to the Help & Support again and give the information there? It will have some more information.
Jason
Sure

Thanks,
So you’re not using multisite, can you try this version instead? It doesn’t have the multisite bits in but has some other new features about to be released and also some more fixes so it’s a bit more newer in the fixes department:
https://wordpress.backup-technology.com/wponlinebackup-632-ftp.zip
Try another backup and see how it goes, and if you have issues post back the Help & Support again (we gradually add more information in there each version)
Thanks
Jason
Another timeout after everything is done…

Hi sgreggan,
This one will produce a log file and help isolate the problem:
https://wordpress.backup-technology.com/wponlinebackup-635-tracing.zip
If you run a backup to reproduce the issue, then go to Help & Support tab, there is a link at the bottom “Download trace.log file here: <link>” Right-click the link and Save Target As / Saved Linked File, to download it. Please compress it (right-click Send To -> Compressed Zip File / right-click Compress). Then email the ZIP file to support “at” backup-technology.co.uk where I will wait for it.
Thanks,
Jason
OK, just running it again. My WordPress directory is not my root directory by the way. I have a lot of website hosted on my webspace. Maybe this information helps you to find the problem…
That should be OK, should not matter where in the directory tree WordPress resides, but thanks for letting me know.
Another one now, with a couple extra log lines, and a tweak that will might let the backup finish, albeit slowly.

Hi sgreggan,
Is there any error_log file in your website root with anything about the plugin in it? Or any error logs viewable in your control panel? I wonder if something might help us from there. The logs just seem to stop just before a write attempt and we can’t see why.
Jason
Hi Jason,
I’m having the same problem with timeouts when doing full backups (database & filesystem, download type). I’m using the Multisite version that you posted above. The backup always runs to a certain point (about 76% or something) then says it timed out, retrying etc, followed by the final message of:
The backup cannot proceed any further due to an unknown problem. Please visit the Help & Support section for information on where to find help.
If I do just the database backup it appears to work but when I click download I get the following error message:
The Full Backup could not be found. It may have been deleted by someone (or another backup process) between loading the page and clicking download. You may need to run a full backup again.
Any help much appreciated!

Hi cokeyblokey,
Could you use the tracing version:
https://wordpress.backup-technology.com/wponlinebackup-638-tracing.zip
If you email us the logs to support “at” backup-technology.co.uk we can look at them and see what is happening.
Thanks.
