    Hi,

In preparing for an upgrade, I've backed up multiple ways including a DB backup and XML export. I've also copied over a full mirror image from my server, but the downloaded files vary in size from the ones on the server. What gives? And should I be concerned?

Here's what my host support said:

It is hard to say, I doubt its a big deal since the file reporting between OSes can be different.

    Does that ring true?

    Yes, it depends.....

Sometimes 1mb is considered to be 1000kb, at other times 1024kb (actual).. same for bits, byte, gigabytes, etc....

So as your host said, it's proberly not a big deal.. (i don't think i'd have personally answered with 100% certainty either had it been me)..

Ah, now that makes sense. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
