File Permissions for Uploads (2 posts)

Checking my blog's file permissions for possible security risks after having been hacked recently, I find all the permissions for all my uploaded images are set at 666 - AND - my FileZilla returns an "Operation Not Permitted" error. It will not permit me to change those file permissions.

I understood that having any files set to 666 could permit access by any malicious factor. Is it alright to leave the permissions set this way, or is there some other way to protect these files?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    Perplexed!
