   When downloading, filenames are stripped out and save as mp3 (no "dot" or anything)

   even renaming the file to filename.mp3 on hard drive does not make the file playable

   Hi,
   That seams a problem due to your web server configuration.

   If you want you can modify the plugin to point directly to the mp3 file instead of downloading it.

   I would like it to automatically download the actual .mp3 file. This method is preferred to having to instruct people to "right click and save as".

   Any thoughts as to why it is downloading a file called mp3 (no filename or playable)?
