Have you considered replacing the use of the file command with something else? Many shared plans (i.e. Godaddy) don't seem to have it turned on.

I have considered using the built-in php stuff, but that seemed somewhat unpredictable. The 'file' command is pretty standard, and if your host deems it necessary to remove it, I pity you. That said, I'll look into the possibility of using the php mime-type detection as a fall-back.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it either. Thanks so much for the help.

Have you contacted their support yet? It is possible that the file command is just located in some weird spot too, and that would be relatively easy to add in support for.

Looks like Godaddy doesn't make it available on their shared plans. Mental note to steer clear on future projects.

I've revamped it in the latest 'dev' version. Give it a try if you like, or just wait for 1.4.1 (shouldn't be more than a day or two).
