Feedburner email sends old posts of WordPress RSS?

    I wonder if others have had this issue? The problem is that Feedburner email subscribers to our WordPress RSS feeds will, upon occasion, receive notifications of old postings as if they have just been published. This happens every so often, say 2-3 times a month, even though the pubDate and other RSS/XML parameters remain unchanged for those specific “old” postings that are sent out erroneously. There appears to be no obvious pattern to what causes it, which is most frustrating.

    I’m not sure that it is specific to WordPress, but it appears that Google/Feedburner has been silent on this issue, eg: http://bit.ly/a06ftb

    I though it might be worth checking with the WP community in the event someone had encountered this issue. Right now we’re checking out possible replacements to Feedburner as a subscription service. Perhaps the subscribe2 plugin, for example.

    Hi Chuck,

    I see your post is a bit old but I’ve been having this issue for about 8 months now.

    Out of the blue, Feedburner sends out an old post of mine which hasn’t been touched in months This is very annoying as some of my RSS subscribers are probably wondering if I’ve gone haywire. Why would I send them to read an old post that deals with something irrelevant?

    I’ve been searching for the bug for some time but it’s impossible to find. If anyone has a solution to this, could you please share it here as I know that I’m not the only one dealing with Feedburner sending out old posts.

    I agree but finding help for Feedburner is like finding a needle in a haystack – impossible!

    Hi Diane,

    We gave up and went with Feedblitz. There’s some $$ to it, but we’re much happier with the results.
