feedback re. appearance on wp-login.php
-
I’ve been explaining to a number of people how to log into their websites with Clef, and it seems that when WordPress and Clef login options are both enabled the current placement of the “log in with your phone button” is confusing to some people.
In this scenario the “log in with your phone” button is in the middle of the core WordPress login fields (crude text diagram below):
[WordPress Username]
[WordPress Password]
OR
[Clef button]
[WordPress Remember Me] [WordPress Login]This is fine for those of us that understand that Clef is installed, but confusing for new users that don’t know what Clef is, and also may not have used a WordPress site before.
I’d like to suggest that the Clef login is placed elsewhere, not in the middle of the fields needed should someone be logging in with a WordPress account.
This would be fine:
[Clef button]
OR
[WordPress Username]
[WordPress Password]
[WordPress Remember Me] [WordPress Login]As would this:
[WordPress Username]
[WordPress Password]
[WordPress Remember Me] [WordPress Login]
OR
[Clef button]Or maybe floated out to the left of the WordPress login form area as many social options often are.
I know the button matches your branding, but another suggestion would be a different coloured button, not one that is very close in colour to the WordPress login.
Loving Clef so far, this is just feedback that might help new users (and their helpers) out – more people using Clef is good for all of us 😉
