Do you have a URL for us to look at?
“Error establishing a database connection” is something you would notice it entire WP was down.
Hi Viktor
Is this what you are looking for

Thanks mate… for looking into this. I appreciate this. I’m just done in today with all of this. MR.CBB
Interesting issue, seems that your other feeds are working but the main feed isn’t able to connect to DB.

Did you do anything before it broke? Upgrade any plugins?
I see WP is still 3.8.3.
Hey mate,
I did nothing before it broke. Blue Host went down this morning and then I posted my post and this is when I found out. I post once per day, yesterday was fine. I had two plugin updates. I deactivated them and that still didn’t make a difference. My wordpress is Version 3.9 which is what it says at the bottom of my dashboard very bottom of page. No one seems to want to help at BH so I have no idea what is going on. π
Hey, I just checked your feed again and it seems to work now. Did you do anything?
Hey,
Yes one of my mates who is a personal finance blogger who provides services to those in need went in and sorted it out in a jiffy. I recall him saying something about removing a cache. I re-synced Feedburner and checked the feedvalidator a few minutes later and it was all back up and running. It was nothing I did initially. He was awesome to fix that for me like he did and so fast.
So much for that being fixed. I posted my blog post… then it happens again. First It’s taking ages to even open the blog then It’s taking me minutes to get into the back end. I called Blue Host.. they said they were having issues again but couldn’t help me, AGAIN… so I checked feedburner, feedvalidator and twitterfeed and the exact same issue as last night is back. I’m floored!~
Seems feed is back working again, but yes I’ve seen reports of people having issues on bluehost and other hosting companies owned by EIG.. hostgator, ipower, justhost, etc.
He went in and had to clear the cache again… not sure why this keeps happening.. any ideas? That’s what he told me he’s done.
I would switch to W3TC caching plugin, but if not possible, then exclude RSS feeds from being cached completely. There’s no reason for them to be cached really.
Right now I’m using WP Super Cache which I installed a few weeks back at the suggestion of Blue Host after I was on the phone with them because I kept getting database errors all of a sudden. How will I know if it’s ok to use the W3 Cache? Do I deactivate the WP Supercache? How do I stop the RSS feed from caching? I know many questions but at this point I’m stumped! I’m worried to see what will happen when I post tomorrow. Thanks Viktor
Here is what my mate who is fixing my site says…and just before I posted again today Bluehost dropped on me… again just like it did yesterday at around the same time.
The issue is that each time Bluehost has a problem it breaks the RSS feed. When that happens you have to clear the entire website cache in order to get wordpress to update the RSS feed. This is not really a caching problem, but more of a problem with BlueHost dropping service and causing your feed to break.
Here’s how to exclude it with supercache:

Unfortunately, since its a bluehost issue – other than moving to a different hosting provider, not much can be done from your end.
That’s what he thinks it is. I’ll see what happens when I post today and report back. Thanks for the link to remove it.. he said he already has but I’ll give it a read so I know myself. The other issue is he said it takes 2 seconds to load from Blue Host before it starts to show which is unacceptable. I know I have lots of photos that I’ve used over the years an apparently Jetpack is crushing me as well. The percentage of usuage is crazy.
