From my understanding.
For Post, it will automatically show the featured image.
For Page, it doesn’t do that.
So for Page, you have to “place the image tag into the content”.
i thought “featured image” was for changing the header image for each page. (been using wordpress for a week now). is that not correct?

not for Twenty Twelve –
historically, Twenty Eleven and Twenty Ten are doing this.
you need to edit the header code to ‘fix’ this for Twenty Twelve, after creating a child theme; http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

ooooh nooooo……been hearing about these child themes…guess its time to learn. thanks guys.
hi, not sure if it’s ok to post here or not, but I”m looking for a “broken” Featured Image solution.
I changed a site to now use Twenty Twelve and it is automatically grabbing the first image on each PAGE (yes, page!) and showing it full size. I’ve tried deleting them, but WP won’t allow me to. The minute I save the change, WP puts the featured image back at the top of the page.
So annoying and many pages on my site now look awful. Actually, it is doing this only on pages I EDIT, but if I don’t touch the page, it’s ok.
Reading thinkurr’s comment above, “featured images … is enabled in settings” — I can’t find Settings for Twenty Twelve anywhere. Perhaps I’m missing something?
If I have posted this in the wrong spot, I do apologies. Please let me know what I should do instead. Thx!!
Recent version of Twentytwelve includes feature image in content-page.php

Also, this topic is just a misunderstanding of how Twentytwelve makes use of feature image, so please post a new separate topic in Twentytwelve theme forum
