   Scrappy's featured images are 640 x 200, hard-cropped, at the largest screen size. You can see examples on the demo.

   I tried making it taht size just now and I can't get my image to show right. Iw anted to makea sort of title header image, but it doesn't display the image right. it zooms in way too m uch.

   Maybe you mean the custom header image -- featured images appear along with each post, the custom header only appears once at the top of the page. The custom header dimensions are noted when you go to Appearance -> Header. It's possible your original header image is too small and so it's getting stretched.

   It looks like the original image isn't meant to fit in an area of those dimensions... it gets hard-cropped. You can either change the image to fit exactly in the given dimensions or just put it directly in the post at full size instead of using the Featured Image function.
