[resolved] Featured Categories widget (2 posts)

    I'm needing a plugin widget for the sidebar with the following items;

  2. List 5 categories I select from my list of 20 categories
  3. Show the titles of those 5 categories
  4. Show the 3 most recent posts in each category area
  5. Show a category icon or post thumbnail from the most recent post

    6. http://www.runnersworld.com has a "Features" area on the right with the look I'm trying to find.

    I've tried searching but can't find a plugin that works or is even close (BNS Featured Category didn't do it). Does anyone have a suggestion for a plugin they've used that will do this?

    Just in case anyone ever needs similar flexibility...I never found a plugin that would do this. I solved it by installing http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/list-category-posts/ to create shortcodes for each category. Then installed http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/shortcodes-in-sidebar-widgets/. I then placed my shortcodes in a sidebar widget text field.
