• Hello,

I just wanted to ask if there is an existing ‘feature request’ thread or forum – as there are a couple of suggestion which would be really useful and wonder whether you would welcome me sharing my ideas with you? I’m really enjoying using Namaste. It’s simple and powerful and I’m sure there’s more to come.

Many thanks and keep up the excellent work,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

We welcome feature requests any time – you can either send them on the emails given in the contacts page or just drop them here in the forum.

Thanks very much – okay here goes with three requests

The first is would it be possible to allow a lesson to be associated with more than one course. It is often the case (especially with modular courses) where core lessons may be shared between courses. At the moment, I can only achieve this by copying the lesson.

The second is to do with user management. Would be possible to add / enrol students into Namaste from a list of registered users, rather than entering an email address (which I may not have to hand)? I am also using Buddy Press on my site and am using BP for forums, chat, media folders and wikis and if whole groups could be enrolled in one go, this would be great.

Third one (last for now) would be to ask whether have the tracking (My Courses in the Dashboard) can be accessed by a standard page or widget – and therefore it can be placed in a main menu on the site. The Dashboard can be a scary place for students (especially younger ones) and it would be good if they could check their progress on a regular page. A widget with a simple progress bar / piechart would also be really useful, as it could be something in view at all times.

Hope that these suggestions are helpful – we are around a month away from putting our site live and Namaste is going to hopefully be a big part of it!

    Many thanks again,
    Mike

Great suggestions, thanks Mike. Most of them will be implemented, they are really good.

    Fantastic – thanks very much!

    Hi,
I’m very interested in the progress of Namaste! and would like to suggest an integration which I believe would make Namaste! a very attractive plugin for teachers like me.
I know you charge to enroll in Namaste’s courses can using Paypal and Stripe integration, nevertheless the actual enrollment is manually done after payment is received and I believe its not Namaste’s core business to handle e-commerce.
I’d like to suggest Namaste! integration with WooCommerce just like Sensei does: courses become products and after successfully buying a product (payment received) you’re automatically enrolled to the course.

Well, I’ve got some other suggestions to make, but I know it takes time to develop each of them, that’s why I’m suggesting this one first.

Congrats on the great product, keep up the good work and hope my suggestion is accepted.

    Regards,

    Thanks for the suggestions, Wander.

I have a suggestion that would make life much easier for me. I have courses that are divided into “modules” or “units.” Then a “lesson” is one day’s, or one hours activities. Then I have assignments.

Would it be possible to add one more layer to the namaste lms and allow courses to have units or modules. It could be checked or unchecked on the settings page whether or not an individual needs an additional layer, and then it would make it available. As it is, I am having to give information on my courses on a separate page, then the students are enrolled in “courses” that are actually modules within the course, then their daily lessons in each module, and their assignments.

Thanks so much… this would be FANTASTIC! It would be even better if it happened really soon, too!

A couple other ideas. How about prerequisites for COURSES? I have a full program of study on my site, and the majority of classes, students cannot take until they have finished previous COURSES. So that feature would be nice. Also, I love the idea of having everything seen through the wordpress pages instead of students having to go to the dashboard. I’d love that feature, too!
