For someone like myself (and I believe many others) who like to create new draft posts whenever we have a new idea, then eventually finish writing it a couple of days later, it would be very convenient if there is a button next to the date of the post to instantly update the timestamp of the post to present day & time without having to edit every field manually.

When you write a post and save it as draft, it shouldn't require you to change the time/date when you post. First posting should be the 'NOW' moment.
If I go in and make a draft post, leave it alone for a week, and then edit it, it jumps to the top of my post list, and updates itself to 'now' just fine.
