Here are some ideas, based on SlimStat and WP-PostViews plugins' abilities:

    • Most popular posts this month
    • Least popular posts this month
    • Most/Least popular posts this calendar year
    • Most/Least popular posts in the past 12 months
    • etc

    Thanks.

Is there a reason why you would want to display your least popular posts to your visitors? I don't understand the business logic behind that one.

Valid question. I can't say I have a pressing need for it now, but I assume it's no harder to implement than the inverse... Maybe to get them to be more popular?

I think I could get the functionality of most popular posts this month/year. Just a quick question so I program it correctly: What would you expect to happen if you have the widget set to display "Most popular posts this month" and it becomes the 1st day of a new month/year? All the stats would reduce to 0 views and none would be "most popular." Essentially, the widget would then grab X random articles to display until there are enough views on different posts. Is this desired? What do you think the widget should do in this case?

I could see people having several ideas / desired configurations. For example:
    - past 30 days (x days) -- never have any zero counts
    - 1st of month, reset to zero (as you said)
-- could have an option to display none or to display 5 random or to display last month's most popular until your first visitor of the month
-- maybe allow for a custom text like "be this month's first reader" in the case of zero

Personally, I think you could code it really customizable and it'd be awesome or, if you wanted to get it done the quickest way possible, I'd say to allow for "x days" in the past.

As the user, I'd vote for lots of options, but I understand this is a free plugin so I'm not going to get greedy for just me, but I think highly customizable per widget would make it the best it could be.

    Hope that feedback helps.
