I would like to see messages that are received from like contact form and other messages from users listed and showed on dashboard of wordpress. I mean if you got someone trying to contact you via form and the email feature does not send emails of the contact form, because of some host services have problems with wordpress email sending.

It would be nice to have the notification on the dashboard saying there are new messages, and you can either click on them in the dashboard or go to the side of dashboard and click messages. That is so we will know if there are new messages with out having to check all the time, because now we don't know if there is any at all unless clicking on the side on the messages button. I would think if you have your site as a business, you would want all the notifications of things going on as you can get.

That's not a core WordPress feature - the forms I mean. That means that it's up to which ever plugin that you use for your form sot display this information. I use a commercial one that does display all of the details of each ofrm, nubmer of submissions and new submissions. If the plugin that you're using doesn't have that you should contact the author of the plugin and request that feature be added.

How is this resolved? There is no plugin with that feature that is compatible with 3.5.1 version. So don't give me that it can't be done. If you can have comments listed in dashboard, then so can messages to be contacted be there too. So I don't get why something that would be needed not be a necessity. Heck, I would rather go to dashboard and see that I have messages, than just assume I have them, and go to the side to see if there are any. Simplicity is better, than having to go through hoops to get what you want.

I am not talking about member or users messages. I am talking about what I said in first place of first post says CONTACTS. That means people that go to my contacts page and sends a message that I need to know if they sent me one with a notification on dashboard saying how many messages I have. I guess that is way to hard to figure out to do. So I guess this is resolved, since no one really cares.

If it's for messages send to you via a contact form of some kind, then you can either get the author of that plugin to set that up for you (if they are willing - remember that if the plugin came form the repository on this site this is all non-paid work) or you can do like above and build your own dashboard widget. As I said before, that sort of functionality is up to the author of which ever plugin that you're uisng for the contact form, and you would be best off contacting them and requesting the feature. Each plugin that's hosted on here has it's own support forum, so you can ask there and the author will see your request and hopefully respond.

Who said that it can't be done? I said in my first post that it can be done because the plugin that I'm using does exactly what you're asking about. And as I said then it's a commercial product, so not a free one off here.

You also don't need to adhere strictly to the versions that are supporrted. In a lot of cases authors don't upgrade the plugins as much as the WP core, but they still function perfectly well. You may need to do some testing for yourself though.
