  • I wish “Drafts” was one of the Posts menu items along with All Posts, Add New, etc.

I know I can access drafts from my Dashboard Home page, but I usually deal with comments first, so I’m not on that page. It just seems logical to have drafts in the top menu for Posts, rather than having to go to All Posts first. I can’t be the only one who is blogging on the fly, and needs to pick up wherever I left off.

  • This article should help you.

Kelvin, the solution you linked to seems interesting. But two questions:

    1) The article never says where this code should be placed. Since it mentions that these are functions, is it assumed these code snippets should be added to functions.php or do they go elsewhere?

    2) If someone makes the changes suggested in the article, wouldn’t they be overwritten the next time WordPress is upgraded to a new version?

I would imagine there must be a plugin out there which can make dashboard menu editing (a) user-friendly; and (b) immune to WordPress and/or theme upgrades. If there isn’t, there’s an idea for someone with the skills to make one.
