Feature request: assign marker to more then one layer

Little bit struggling with the way map marker works. For holidays etc. we make maps for each day on which we place markers for places visited etc. So the best way it would work for me is defining all he markers and then select which ones to show on a particular map, so they the markers only need to be created once.

This works fine for one layer map, but not if I want to re-use a marker on another map. This means I need to duplicate the marker several times or have for each marker a map layer created, which with the multi layer functionality is combined to a map layer which I want (hmm story becomes complicated…).

Is it possible to have the possibility to have a marker assigned to multiple layer maps?
