Favicon not found in header.php
-
Hi all,
I’m having difficulty changing the favicon. I’ve uploaded it to my host through the FTP file, then I went to WordPress to do the following as described in their link http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Favicon
1. Select the file called Header or header.php to edit the file.
2. Search for the line of code that begins with <link rel=”shortcut icon” and ends with /favicon.ico” />. Overwrite it, if it exists, or add the following code below the <head> HTML tag.
<link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”<?php echo get_stylesheet_directory_uri(); ?>/favicon.ico” />But the only code I have after <link is:
<link rel=”profile” href=”http://gmpg.org/xfn/11″ />
And
<link rel=”pingback” href=”<?php bloginfo( ‘pingback_url’ ); ?>” />I have done a search and can not find the word favicon or any variation of it, such as favicon.ico, in the Header.php or the custom-header.php
Can anyone suggest how to proceed?
Thanks so much for your time in answering.
