   Hi, I cannot seem to het the favicon to display on my frontend. it shows on my backend at the dashboard but not on the site? What up?

   I am not an experienced WordPress user so I could be missing something really simple, but I cannot seem to figure it out.

   Please help

   Hi,

   the PNG favicon you uploaded is linked correctly and is displayed correctly, at least in Chrome.

   Did you take a look at the description on the Wikipedia page (especially the compatibility chart) or this blog entry if you are using Internet Explorer?

   For example, Internet Explorer does not display PNG favicons.
   Also, if you ever visited your own site before and had a different favicon or no favicon at all, your browser probably cached that. Try deleting the cache, or use a different browser to test if the favicon is displayed.

   Hi, Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I deleted my cached history and the favicon is still not displaying on the front end. The other reason why I also don't think it is a browser issue, is because, the favicon displays perfectly when I am on the dashboard and in the backend of the website. It is displaying the wordpress favicon on the front end.

   Do you need more information from me in order to fix it?

   unfortunately, there is nothing I can do.

   This really is a browser problem. Every browser that ever accessed your site while no favicon or an old favicon was used will have the same problem.
   For me, the Favicon displays just fine:

   Chrome:
   http://i.imgur.com/PuaUJ.png

   FireFox:
   http://i.imgur.com/AfAIL.png

   You could try another browser to validate this.
