Fatel error while upgrading

    So I am trying to upgrade from 1.2 to 1.5.2 and when I open my upgrade.php page I get the following fatal error..

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare timer_start() (previously declared in /home/unblur/public_html/wordpress/wp-settings.php:43) in /home/unblur/public_html/wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php on line 472

    anyone else get this error and know how to fix, help please!
