    Hi there,

I have a fresh install of WordPress with Multisite enabled. Right after installing and network activating Better WP Security, I went to create a database backup from the plugin’s dashboard – however, I get this error message:

“Fatal error: Call to a member function execute_backup() on a non-object in /domain.com/wp-content/plugins/better-wp-security/inc/admin/process.php on line 113”

The same error comes up if I go to the Backup tab and try to create one from there. I’m puzzled because I had used this on a Multisite before with no problem.

  • Same thing here after upgrading to 3.5.2, but with a slightly different error message:

Fatal error: Call to a member function execute_backup() on a non-object in /home/sheldonv/public_html/wp-content/plugins/better-wp-security/inc/admin/process.php on line 714

    No problems backing up before.

Yep, I actually just noticed that when I try to create one from the backup tab, it lists the error as on line 714 as well.

I have encountered the same problem after updating the plugin on one of my sites. Now I’m also unable to create a backup due to the same error as Zilla described.

I hope the developer comes up with a quick patch in a couple of days, for now I’ll keep my other sites running at the latest backup-capable version.

Yes, I am getting the fatal error for line 714 as well. I will monitor this post for results.

    Thanks!

Same same, hopefully this thread is being monitored !

    Same here!

I received the same fatal error … line 714. I’m hoping to get a resolution soon, too. Thanks.

White screen of death when I try to backup database after installing this plugin.

Hasn’t crashed my site but would appreciate a heads up on why this is happening.

There are other security plugins out there and I have been hit recently so want to implement something quickly!

    Many thanks

I ran into this when attempting a back up with BackUpWordPress. Just ran it on one site no issues – went to install on another and the site is gone – getting this message

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 262144 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 140 bytes) in /home/content/96/8056296/html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3129

    any suggestions?

    Thank you

Me too! I hope the developer responds!

    I get..

Fatal error: Call to a member function execute_backup() on a non-object in /home/notrealname/public_html/wp-content/plugins/better-wp-security/inc/admin/process.php on line 714

    Hope this helps all.

Step one – backup you db and files – may have to do this through ftp

Step two – remove offending plugin. You may have to go through ftp if you can’t access your admin panel.

Step three – increase available php memory note:godaddy max is 64m

    Good luck all.

I removed the plugin that caused memory issue and increase to max 64m via wp-config – see above for code

    Hi all,

I have the same fatal error message problem while attempting to backup with BetterWP Security. Just recovering from a bad hack. Will greatly appreciate a quickly resolution.

    Regards

Remove BetterWP Security and see what happens. Hope this helps

Seems to have cleared itself now. Have had a nasty hack on my site from Phishing group. Be careful out there. This plugin has helped me catch a few IP addresses & hopefully will remain that way. Also doing a double sign in for my admin. Rather be safe than sorry.

Hope you guys get your issues sorted soon. It’s cost me a lot of time and some hard earned cash to repair the damage. Now to sort out my theme which has gone haywire due to an update πŸ™

I received the same error today on a fresh install of WordPress 3.5.2:

Fatal error: Call to a member function execute_backup() on a non-object in /home/mydomain/public_html/perm/wp-content/plugins/better-wp-security/inc/admin/process.php on line 113

Uninstalling Better WP Security plugin doesn’t seem to make sense as a solution since this plugin is what is being used to create the backup!

    Developer?
