    Hi.
I updated the plugin but now I can’t activated. The following error message is appearing:

Warning: require(): apc failed to locate wp-bitly-options.php – bailing in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/wp-bitly/wp-bitly.php on line 28 Warning: require(wp-bitly-options.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/wp-bitly/wp-bitly.php on line 28 Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required ‘wp-bitly-options.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear’) in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/wp-bitly/wp-bitly.php on line 28

Any ideas on how fix this?

That’s a strange error, considering there isn’t a wp-bitly-options.php file anymore. That makes me think not all the files were properly updated or overwritten.

I would suggest deleting the plugin via FTP, and try installing it again.

You could alternatively delete it from the WordPress dashboard, however if it calls the uninstall.php file (assuming that file is there from the upgrade) it will delete all your locally cached shortlinks. This doesn’t mean it will generate all new shortlinks, Bitly maintains the same ones for each permalink, it just temporarily removes them from your local cache.

It worked as you said. Awesome. Thanks!
