I use 1and1 for my webhost My domain is idunnasgrove.com and when I was trying to set up my wife a wp blog I recieved the following error when trying to sign in as the admin
Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'ABSPATHwp-admin/includes/bookmark.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php') in /homepages/20/d165765307/htdocs/stephblog/wp-admin/admin.php on line 10
I tried running the wp_config again and it states that WP is already installed. I may not be too swift with mySQL but it would appear that the 5 minute install does not work as the script appears to not create some necessary tables.
I have installed WP in the past using the quick install instructions and didnt have any problems. http://www.celticsavage.com for example.
I created a new mysql5.0 DB PHP is enabled and dont know where to start.

Yeah that is the kicker, it looks fine untill you sign in as the admin then you get the above error.
And no im not worried about hackers as I will just delete the Db
Edit to remove the password info as that DB has since been blown away

have you tried re uploading the /wp-admin and /wp-includes folders again?

Yes I have I am also looking for an earlier version of WP. I am going to try with 2.9 and see if I can get it installed properly and upgrade from there.

IT appears this is an issue with 2.9.1 as I was able to install 2.9 with no problems. and can sign into the dashboard.
I am now upgrading to 2.9.1
