    Hi there,

    Just thought i'd give 3.2 a try, but since there was no update option i had to delete 3.1 first. After doing so i downloaded 3.2 only to get the following error upon activation;

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function buddypress() in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/achievements/includes/buddypress/functions.php on line 22

    Anything i can do about this?

    I'm getting the same error and followed the same steps to get there.

    achievements()->integrate_into_buddypress = buddypress() && ! buddypress()->maintenance_mode && bp_is_active( 'xprofile' ); is line 22, so I'm not sure why it's tripping up here. Any clues Paul?

    You need to use BuddyPress 1.7+

    Sorry for not making this clearer.

    Thanks for the quick response. That solved the issue with activation of 3.2. I was hoping that the improved buddypress options would include the group-specific achievements (for me this is the core function i need). Are you still planning to implement this again?

    Probably.

    Are you telling me I HAVE to have Buddypress installed to use this plugin?
    I just use bbpress which is all I want.
    Mind you, the install couldn't even find the zip on the WP Repo either

    Well, thanks for clearing that up. Back to 2.4 we go. Will be looking forward to the day that the 3.X versions truly offer the full buddypress integration of it's predecessor.

    @Martin: As far as i know it should function fine without buddypress after the 3.0 update (or rather rebuild)

    Must have been a hiccup in the repo. Tried again and installed, though limited without Buddypress.
    Is there a WooCommerce compatibility on the horizon?

    It would be kinda cool to have an award pop up for an anonymous user prompting them to register to collect achievements, in my view too

    Or awards for browsing more than xxx pages in a session.

    Lots of potential to better promote more engagement

    No. I didn't say that anywhere.

    Making digs at me is not going to encourage me to help you further.

    Digs? I fear you misunderstood. I've been a big fan of your plugin for a long time. The main reason for this was the group specific achievements. When 3.0 released i was disappointed to see the option was gone, but saw the overall improvement to the plugin. From that perspective, I'm truly looking forward to the day that the (now superior) plugin will once again have the function that drew me to it in the first place.

    I'm sorry if my reply implied anything else, although I do hope that you understand that for older users, 3.2 does not offer the FULL buddypress integration they had gotten used to.

    I have to agree with ehouben, and I don't think he meant any sarcasm or intended to dig at you while I could see why you would think that.

    Generally, new software versions add and improve features but it did feel like we lost a big chunk of important (to some of us) functionality with the newer versions.

    It's like getting a car that's nice all round but the selling point is the amazing built in stereo system.. Later on down the road you decide to upgrade your car to the same but newest model and while the engine is upgraded and there's some great new features, there's no stereo included.

    That said, you've done amazing work and you're obviously an extremely talented developer that has let us use your product for free so we can't complain, but it would just be nice if we didn't lose any of that key functionality even if hadn't changed much.

    Hey;

    Sorry for being harsh in my last post here. I was pretty jetlagged and misinterpreted your response; my bad. Still friends? :)

    Ok, message received about group achievements. I'll see how hard it would be to add that back and roadmap accordingly. What else have I overlooked from the 2.4 versions that everyone here misses? Other than the widgets ;)

    No problem at all, I shouldn't have left my reply open for negative interpretation. I cannot think of any other functions i really miss. The group-specific achievements were a core requirement for my project, because i am designing it for an educational purpose (so i needed to reward based on engaging in specific subjects (groups), instead of engaging on the site in general). That's why i sorely missed them come 3.0 ;)

    I'll second that vote for group-specific achievements.
