   I installed a plug-in. The plug-in locked me out of the dashboard. To resolve I deleted a few things and crashed the whole website! How can I fix this error, and if I cannot, how do I start from scratch?

   what did you delete?

   It was some maintenance splash page. The first thing I deleted was the deprecated.php (probably a big mistake). Then I deleted the plug in, and the plug ins folder entirely.

   I downloaded the wordpress zip and then re-uploaded the deprecated.php file. All seems to be fixed now. Thanks for your response cubecolour!
