Fatal Error Every Few Weeks (7 posts)

    I get the following:
Fatal error: Can't use function return value in write context in /home/kayenta/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/german-newspaper/header.php on line 4
Now this has been an on going issue for me for quite sometime. The only way I am able to fix this is by changing to a new theme everytime I get the "Fatal Error Page".

I do all my updates for my themes as well as all the Word Press Updates.

When I change the theme everything work fine for about 2-3 weeks and then I get the dreaded:
Fatal error: Can't use function return value in write context in /home/kayenta/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/german-newspaper/header.php on line 4

Like I stated before, the only way I am able to fix this is by changing my theme to a completely new one and I am never able to use any of the other previous ones that I have used before.

If someone could please help me it would GREATLY appreciated.

On a side note, I am totally clueless when it comes to playing around with code, so a fairly simple and easy to understand step by step instruction to remidy this issue would be awesome.

    Please help me....anyone!

Your theme is, effectively, broken and you should consider using another theme.

What version of German Newspaper are you using?

esmi: This happens every few weeks with the same message. Even if I delete the theme and reinstall it, it does the same thing. I have been changing the theme every few weeks when this happens. What would be causing this?

Chip: The very latest version 1.2.33

Note that the "latest version" is almost a year old.

Chip: I didn't know that. Besides how old it is, it still gives the error on all my previous themes. I'm just tired of having to change my theme everytime this happens.
