[resolved] Fatal error during installing W3 Total Cache (5 posts)

    I tried with 0.6 and 0.7 of the W3 Total Cache plugin. Both times I get this error:

    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=', expecting ')' in /path/to/blog/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/lib/W3/Plugin/Cdn.php on line 478

    I set the access rights of wp-content to 777, copied the plugin folder to the plugin folder and tried to activate it in the wordpress plugin section.

    I'm running php version 4.4.9.

    Anyone any ideas?

    Thanks!

    ok, it's the php version. my provider allows me to switch to php 5.2 via .htaccess.

    AddHandler php5-cgi .php

    after that i could enable the plugin without issues

    @skarabaeus,

    it's the php version. my provider allows me to switch to php 5.2 via .htaccess.

    AddHandler php5-cgi .php

    Unfortunately due to minify and the "end of life" of PHP4 support for it was not a priority as yet. I'm glad you were able to upgrade!

    I'm also getting this error, except mine is on line 485. I've tried the above approach, but it does not seem to be working for me. Any ideas on how I can get this fixed too?

    Thanks.

    @azngoHAPPY are you able to run phpinfo(); in a page and see if you are running PHP5?
