[resolved] Fatal Error after hitting "3.4 Upgrade". HELP! (8 posts)

I hit the auto-update button, and this is what I get on trying to access the dashboard:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_option() in /home/spydivo5/public_html/wp-admin/admin.php on line 32

And on trying to access the site, spydistrict.com :

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp() in /home/spydivo5/public_html/wp-blog-header.php on line 14

I got on the FTP, changed the theme folder to "mansion-old", and added a "-deactivated" after every plugin folder, no luck. :(

Any ideas, folks? Thank you very much in advance for any help.

    Hi,

Start by downloading the latest WordPress from http://wordpress.org/download/

Connect via FTP and re-upload the files in the root of WordPress, wp-admin and wp-includes.

then navigate to /wp-admin/upgrade.php and run the database upgrade.

    That should do the trick.

Thanks a ton, I'll try that out.

At first glance, I can't spot an upgrade.php folder/file in the FTP. Is that an issue?

Yes. The file should be in

    /wp-admin/upgrade.php

You should run this file once you upload all files.

Right, but for whatever reason, I can't see it there.

Where can I download a fresh copy, if that is possible?

Ah, found it now. It was in wp-admin.

But what do you mean by "navigate to /wp-admin/upgrade.php and run the database upgrade."?

How do I run the database upgrade using that file?

    Ah, back in business.

    Figured it out.

    Thanks!
