   Hello:
   Not sure where to ask this. But I updated a site with wordpress-automatic-update plug in to 2.7 and the far left Dashboard listing of all the options does not appear.

   There are two columns that do appear but they do not list the options. I suspect a upgrade problem but I don't know how to open the far left column that is not showing.

   Please advise,

   SAME PROBLEM faced by ME
   i installed 2.7 & used backup of 2.6.5

   now left side dashboard options not appering on 2.7
   [e.g. plugins,theme editor etc]

   m unable to edit themes & install plugins etc.

   moderators plz help
   & provide the solution.

   I have this same problem. Quite annoying. I've not upgraded my other sites due to this issue.

   I suspect this has something to do with jQuery 1.2.6 and I've been unable to roll back to 1.2.3 successfully.

   Yes, I also cannot afford to update any other sites to 2.7 as it makes the site completely useless.

   I hope someone can provide the solution soon.

   Obviously, others are having the same problem.

   Folks: I found the answer at least for me.

   It seems to be in the "Lighter Menus" plug in; if you are using that plug in you need to de-activate it or delete it.

   I got to the plugin page via the following link:

   http://www.yourdomainname.com/wp-admin/plugin.php

   .....deactivated my "lighter menus" plug-in and the far left dashboard sidebar instantly appeared!!

   Yes...The vertical menu dropdown's whole point is to take all of those things and put them up in the drop down menu options. Not sure how or why you would want both...

   problem Solved !!!
   it was due to "lighter Menu" Plugin
   after plugin deleted
   Everything OK :)

   upgrading to 2.7.1 fixed this issue for me, so I'm not clear as to what my issue was... fixed, though, so I'm happy. Now I can update my other sites.
