• what is the difference between the wordpress you install via Fantastico and the development version (3.2-RC1)?

The dashboard looks totally different than what I am use to by installing via Fantastico.

I am a designer and have been asked to look at a WP site that is currently using the development version (3.2-RC1). How will this effect how I design, and/or upload a new theme?

    Thanks in advance!!!

3.2 is the UPCOMING version of WP.

Fantastico probably installs 3.1.3, which is the current version.

The difference is totally obvious here 😉 New version.

Scroll around there, many announcements about WP 3.2

YOu can read up on all the changes

The dashboard does look different, it works pretty much the same

Themes that worked on 3.1 should pretty much work on 3.2. I didn’t experience any issues while testing the 3.2

That being said 3.2 is not an official release yet, some things may be broken

However with it being a release candidate (RC) and no longer beta, it’s pretty close to ready
