Hello -- I don't know what it is, but any new theme I install I get this error with the functions.php. I have even tried installing on different domains that I use WP on.

Is it because of a WP Upgrade or something else. I'm not familiar too much with PHP, but if I have to edit something directly I can try. Any suggestions?

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the theme…

    Theme installed successfully.

fopen and fread, etc. are host "security" features
ask them how to get around this

well I can see your site (http://www.bailowitzstringensemble.com/) in my browser without any such error message.

Unless I am missing the point, looks like there may be a cache issue. To clear cache in your browser, press clrl+f5 keys simultaneously. Also, try different computer/different browser.

t-p // it does show up -- but with the default wordpress layout b/c it says there was an error with the installation of the previous one and reverts to the default.

Still not able to get it sorted out. working on it.

I'm having the same issue, is Samuel's answer the easiest way to go about this or could I modify the file to make it work?
