Im trying to setup a wordpress site and so far its been a whole week and iv'e had nothing but problems after problem!!

I started over with a fresh install and now when i try change them or install a pluggin, i get the error: Failed to connect to FTP Server localhost:21

I haven't even done anything to my site yet, this is a fresh install (online interface).

My hostname and password should be correct although my password is showing 5 figures not 8. I want to edit this in the form but its won't let me. The only thing i can do is look and my incorrect password or highlight it. I can't edit it like wordpress tells me to do at this point.

Someone please help! This is driving me crazy as i haven't even started making my website yet!

Usually you don't need a ftp service at your localhost.

Which software are you using to run your localhost? Are you on Windows or Mac?

I installed my wordpress/site through wealthy affiliate and am creating my page online. I don't have a ftp or wordpress installed on my desktop

Windows 7.. It was working fine the other day. Then when i deleted my site and started over, i started to get this message when i try to change theme

Turns out its a problem from the FTP sever end. They are working on a fix now.
