I keep getting the red box error message "fail to send message. Please try later or contact the administration by another method." I have tried everything to fix it that I found in previous topic forums and I have no idea what I should do next. Is it Contact 7 or something within my WordPress website? I am up for any ideas for fixing this problem if anyone has any.

I have tried deactivating and activating again, I tried changing the 'from' field, and I tried the WP SMTP plugin, none of which helped.
    Please Help!

Is it Contact 7 or something within my WordPress website?

It's something within your WordPress website - the Contact Form 7 plugin successfully send millions of emails every day.

Test if your WordPress installation is able to send emails

Try going through the “forgot password” function on wp-login.php.

Do you get the email? If you don’t you will need to rectify this.

The WordPress Codex gives some guidance on this at http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#E-mailed_passwords_are_not_being_received

Thank you so much, that is what it is. When I did forgot password, I got a message that said "The email could not be sent. Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function."

I followed the link that you provided but it is slightly confusing to me. I tried setting up an SMTP configuration plugin yesterday but it kept saying it was having trouble finding the host. What would you suggest I do next? Also what is a *NIX Box?
