here is the 5 hour ordeal.....time and time again it says this when I reload...Just a thought but when ppl make these plug ins why dont they make it more abvious what you need to do to make them work so people don't try the obvious....ya think. lol!

    Unpacking the packageā€¦

    Installing the pluginā€¦

    Destination folder already exists. /home/content/01/8689301/html/wp-content/plugins/facebook-page-promoter-lightbox/

    Dear Sir / Madam,,

Please make sure that the permissions are set to 777 on your ftp. You can also try to remove the folder.

If you ask people for help, I seriously advise you to cut on the '...' and try to write in such a way to make the story a bit more understandable.

Furthermore, there is a issue with the new wordpress installation. The problem might be the new version of jQuery and in the coming days I will try to find a solution for it.

So to recap, check your chmod permissions, delete the folder and try again.

    Yours Faithfully,
    Arevico

Thanks for the reply Arevico. Sorry for my frustration seeping through in the post. I was using the last update not the new one when I rean into an issue.

Here is what I did in order of install process.

I installed, then I went in and erased code and clicked enter with the code for the social plugin from Facebook. I was and am new to WordPress.org from WordPress.com and so I really had no idea how it worked. It was working before or it appeared to be, as far as Arevico's Facebook Popup working on my blog just not mine...was in a hurry to fix so that is why I jumped to conclusion to erase code.

You say to "make sure that the permissions are set to 777 on your ftp". I don't know what this is or what it means. Can you please in Layem Terms explain what this is and how to in simple steps complete this task?

Also it does not appear in my plugins, yet I get the error message I posted above. So how can I erase something that does not appear there?

Finally today I updated to the new WordPress.org release, so should I wait until you've resolved this potential new known issue you make mention of?

Frankly I am willing to pay for the functionality of this and help getting it done asap because this is an AWESOME tool to drive virality of my blog and small business.

Thank you for your time and hoping to hear back with instructions on how to do these things you mention, soon.

    Ron~

The new version 2.3 should fix all issues. To remove any leftovers from previous installation, i'd recomment getting an ftp client ( http://fireftp.mozdev.org/ ).

connect with the settings you have got from your webhosting. Navigate to wp-content/plugings/ and remove the facbeook-page-promote directory. After that go back to the wordpress root folder and selet wp-content. There should be an option called properties or permissions or chmodd. If you open that dialog you can enter a permision code. Use 777 to indicate that script (including wordpress) can get write access to that direcotory and underlying files
