Hi,

Up until the end of July 2013 my Facebook page for my website has been automatically posting the posts from the website. However since then it has stopped. I have checked the Jetpack and Publicize and it says Facebook is connected (I presume as it says ‘shared’ next to the Facebook icon). When I create a new post down the right hand side it says that it will post to Facebook and Twitter.

Twitter is working fine and still posting correctly. I’m unsure whether it is a problem with WordPress or Facebook.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I don’t seem to be able to access your site at the moment. However, when looking at a cached version of your site on Google, I noticed that you’re running an old version of Jetpack.

As soon as your site is available again, could you try to update to the most recent version of Jetpack? If that doesn’t help, could you try to reset your Publicize connection as explained here:

Let me know if it helps.

Hi there!

Luckily I was able to access your site, so I was able to get some more details for you:

Can you contact your hosting provider and explain to them that we are unable to access your blog via cURL, which is needed in order to use Jetpack on your site.

You can let them know we tested the following:

1. Check for access to xmlrpc.php via browser:
http://jumpaccountancy.co.uk/xmlrpc.php

That test returned “XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.” which is a valid result.

2. Check for access via cURL by running the following command from the command prompt:
curl -i -H ‘Content-Type: text/xml’ –data ‘<?xml version=”1.0&”?><methodCall><methodName>demo.sayHello</methodName><params></params></methodCall>’ ‘http://jumpaccountancy.co.uk/xmlrpc.php’

The cURL test returned an invalid result, which includes the full source of your site (too long to post here)

Please provide the information above to your hosting provider so that they can correct the server settings to allow cURL access.

I also noticed that you are using WordPress 3.4.2, and not the most recent version, 3.6. As noted on the plugin page, Jetpack only officially supports version 3.5 and up now:

http://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack/

Updating your WordPress might even fix the xmlrpc.php error I mention above, so I strongly sugest you try that.

You are also using a very old version of Jetpack, 2.0.4: http://jumpaccountancy.co.uk/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/readme.txt

You should update to the latest version, which fixes many bugs and adds new features.

Until you update both WordPress and Jetpack, you will continue to have problems with Publicize.

I am having having the same issue!
Out of the blue, yesterday, Jetpack will not autopost to my facebook account. Shows me an 404 error. But, the post IS on my site, only it just won’t auto post.

I’ve been trying to reset my Facebook account in Jetpack, but it seems as if the link is broken to do so . . .

Help! Can someone take a look?

Hi JWooler, is everything working for you now?

Hi I’ve been a bit stuck at the moment as haven’t been able to update the website as it needs backing up and apparently the login details I have for the plugin back up we have are incorrect. So as I can’t back it up I can’t update it at the moment! I have a separate thread for the query about backing up.

Once I have got it updated then hopefully Publicize will work again!
