   I am confused...

   This is my site... http://www.finelines.org

   The Facebook logo at the bottom is giant. I tried to scale it using the built-in media tool on my WordPress site, but the logo remained giant.

   So then I downloaded a smaller .gif and insterted it into the footer code. However, the old giant logo still shows up. I have updated the footer style page 3 times, but the old image still loads.

   Why?

   what you see is a 256px square image:

   where is your code coming from?

   This would control whatever size you need adjusting height and width.
