I installed Social Author within the last few days and for the most part it works exactly like I would like it to. However, I have run into two issues that I’m not sure how to correct…

My first issue is that every time I add a Facebook page for either author on the site, when I update the settings, it reverts back to no entry and takes people to http://www.facebook.com/

So, here is what I do: I go to edit user, for my user profile which is here – http://www.theworld4realz.com/author/yellowhouse/ I type in thehubz in the facebook area. Then I hit update and when I scroll down to the facebook box, it is empty again.

The same problem applies to when I do it for my wife’s profile page as well… I type in theworld4realz then hit update and it disappears from the box.

The Facebook pages I am trying to link to the Author Bio’s are:
    https://www.facebook.com/TheHubz
    and
    https://www.facebook.com/theworld4realz

I mentioned I have two issues… The other issue is this: I use the plugin Pinterest Pin It Button For Images and I love this plugin, however… It places a “Pin” button over the first portion of my social media buttons for Social Author. You can see an example of this here – http://www.theworld4realz.com/setting-blog-never-ending-process/ If you go down to where the bio is and then hover over the left hand portion of it, you will see that the “Pin” button shows up and I don’t want it to.

My guess is that this issue may have something to do with another plugin (i.e. one that deals with Facebook) is conflicting.

Are you filing in the Facebook section under the Social Author Information section in the profile?

If so, then you can try disabling other plugins which might be messing with the Facebook meta key in the user profile.

Another option is you could disable the built-in Facebook icon in this plugin by un-checking it in the main settings page. Then creating a custom link for Facebook, call it something else like FBook, doing so will cause the meta key to change (and not conflict with the other plugin).

    For example in Custom Links

    for link name put FBook

    for Image URL put http://www.theworld4realz.com/wp-content/plugins/social-autho-bio/images/Facebook.png

for Prepend URL Text put in http://www.facebook.com/

    leave Append URL Text empty.

As for the Pin plugin problem, unfortunately you will have to reach out to the author of that plugin and see if they have a resolution for you.

Please let me know if this works for you.

    Nick
