I have two friends websites that I am helping out with. One is a wordpress.com site and the other is a wrdpress.org site.

On the wordpress.com site there is already an option in the widgets panel to add a simple Facebook Like Box. Such as the one you see on the site I have under my profile.

I am trying to add the exact same (or atleast very similar Facebook like box widget to my friends wordpress.org site however I do not have this same option. I have looked through pages and pages and pages of plugins and widgets but I can not find one that like the wordpress.com Facebook like box.

Does anyone know of a plugin I may have missed that will give me the same look as the wordpress.com site? I don't just want a small string of likes or a badge, I'm wanting the small logo accompanied by the Facebook title with a like button with no stream and no faces, ect.

    I appreciate any help.

There are a number of like buttons in the repository. I've not used it but http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/really-simple-facebook-twitter-share-buttons/ may be a good place to start.

  3. The 'like' button on wordpress.com is because by using their hosting, you're automatically on their network, and logged in users can 'like' posts on the network. You don't get the same effect on .org installs because you're all alone.

However there are 'share' plugins and ones like Peter pointed you at.
