• I have searched through the WP forum and doc to determine that connecting a WP website to a Facebook Group has not been possible in the past. Is this still the case? All the plugins seem to do everything but this. Am I missing something? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  • You can connect to a FB group using Facebook Group Feed from http://groupfeed.climatesceptics.org/

Add the resulting RSS feed to your RSS sidebar widget and it should work?

Thank you VERY much for the response. This is all new to me so please forgive me if this is a simple question. I went to the groupfeed link and have run into two issues. First, it says that it does not work for a closed group which is what we have because it is a group for a members-only organization. Will FGF work with a secret group? Also, it asks for a Group ID to see a demonstration. I went back to my group but could not find a #. Is this referring to the actual name of the group?
    Thanks

    Dont worry 🙂
I think it being a closed group is a full stop for now.
The Group ID is the number as you can see in the picture, of 8-14 digits, after groups/ in your URL. I saw some groups with a name in the URL, but when you examine links in your group and you find one containing “gid=xxxx”, the xxxx is likely the Group ID.

Just to update you, closed groups now also work.
