When I add a link or share a link on FaceBook, it shows the completely wrong image. Is there a code or a plugin I can use so it grabs the Featured image from my post? Or something like that?

Posted 1 year ago #I have the same problem. The Simple Facebook share plug in worked well when I only had a few posts. As I have added more galleries, and posts, when I go to share the latest post using the Facebook Share button - it consistently presents 4 thumbnails from completely different and earlier galleries that I posted weeks ago (2 images from 2 earlier galleries.
I added the plug in "add image_src Meta tag" as well as 'Facebook and Digg Thumbnail generator' and there has been no change it still does the same thing. HELP PLEASE

I hope you can help me. I installed your plugin, made the change to the $default img, and waited 24 hours. Facebook is still showing the wrong image.

Check your page with the lint tool - https://developers.facebook.com/tools/lint/
The tool will refresh the Facebook cache of that page's image. So you can get to know if its working or not.

Thanks so much for your quick reply. I forgot to mention that I did use the lint tool and it is showing up with the thumbnail specified as the Featured Image.

I cannot seem to get your plug in to work for me. Can I ask you please for your help in diagnosing why. When I like or post to Facebook - there are NO pictures that thumbnail for me to include. It was working several weeks ago but stopped.

Facebook will take 24 hours to scrap your pages again and will fix it on all the pages. So, if you need to check whether its working or not, use the lint tool - https://developers.facebook.com/tools/lint/
The plugin will pick the first image of the post to show up as the thumbnail. If the post doesn't have an image in it, it will fallback to a default image which you can edit in the plugin file and put in the path for your URL there. Details for editing are here - http://blog.ashfame.com/?p=888

Posted 1 year ago #Seriously? Its "Ashfame" not "Ashframe".
Your page don't have images in it. Nextgen inserts the gallery as an iframe, so you can edit the plugin to include your logo url which will show up whenever the post don't have images in it.

Posted 1 year ago #oh I am soo sorry for the misspell. It happens to me all the time (people mispelling my name - so I should pay more attention - please forgive me.)
I use nex-gen gallery and smooth as the slideshow that grabs the pictures that I load. Did you not see the slideshow at the url? I see it when I go to it, and it seems to be working fine. I used to get the wrong thumbnail showing and all the way up to a couple of weeks ago that was the condition, then all of a sudden no image (thumbnail ) showed, not even the wrong ones. I have not changed how I load, or post, so I assume there is a change that may have affected this.
I don't want my logo to show, but I would like one of the pictures in the slideshow gallery to show.
Any suggestions please? Thank you Ashfame….

Out of curiosity, how can I fix the problem on my own? When I use Facebook's lint tool, I get a message about a Bad Image URL and other missing properties (https://developers.facebook.com/tools/lint/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fblog.melschwartz.com%2F).
