facebook for minimatica

I have the facebook plug-in under the tools section. When someone “likes” my page no picture comes up. I have a featured post image set for each post linking to facebook. when someone like my home page, text from an old blog post comes up and there are no pictures attached to the facebook link. I have created an app for the facebook developers linked to my site. Does the minimatica theme not support this? can someone help me to set up my home page to attach a picture and short simple message for linking to facebook?
