  • The facebook user needs permissions to do 2 things: Access its app setup page to get the needed infos and authenticate its user via the wordpress plugin.

I’d suggest you build a sandbox app and try the setup yourself. Then you can decide if you feel you can explain it to your client well enough for them to do the setup or if you feel it’s not too intrusive and they’d feel confortable you acessing their facebook account.

Thanks, I expect I’ll have access to my clients fb, or personally walk them through the set up. I’ll try it myself with my site and my own fb account first. I assume it will be a seperate app for each wp site/fb account?

Not sure, but form what I understand, wp site no but fb account yes. The Facebook app seems to be tied to the Facebook user so it can manage many apps at a time, each being used by many sites at a time, but it doesn’t work the other way around.

    WordPress.org Admin

FB Apps can have multiple admins. So you can set it up and then make the other person the admin for the app, which gives them the same permissions as you.
