• My high school students and I have created a website for our town government at eadscolorado.org The employees at the Town of Eads recently created a Facebook Page for people to “like” on Facebook. How can I add a widget or something on the right side of our page for people visiting the website to be “like” this new Town of Eads Facebook page?

Thanks for anybody that can help.

  • Did you try getting the code/ link from Facebook and place it in a text widget?

I just tried it since you asked and that didn’t work. It just shows the very lengthy URL in the textbox and doesn’t actually show an icon or anything to the Town of Eads Facebook Page.

How about a Facebook like plugin?

I downloaded one before posting this question asking for help. There is a box asking for the URL, so I logged in to Facebook (my personal since I don’t have access to the username and password to log into the Town of Eads Facebook page) and copied and pasted the URL at the top of the browser, clicked save, but it won’t seem to actually save because after previewing website and going back to Dashboard, that URL is now blank.

There are lots of Facebook plug-ins.. just not sure which one is simplest or best to use?

Depends on your choice. If you are not sure look for a site that shows something that you like to emulate and find out if it is a WordPress plugin. Download and install it.
