FA Lite or Underlying problem?

I’m not sure if this is an issue with the plugin Featured Articles Lite, or something else on my WP, but perhaps you can help me diagnose the problem. I have Featured Articles Lite and had it set up perfectly. I made a couple of changes in the css child theme to customize appearance, and it worked great. Now, I was just making some changes to other sections of the website and when I reviewed the main page – the slider had repositioned from post body, directly under the header and links – to the top of the page, above my header, pushing the rest of the content down.

I cannot find a reason for it to have done this. I tried removing the recent css changes – no effect. The last thing I was doing before this problem arose was installing another plugin, which I promptly removed..but still no difference. I tried creating a new slider, thinking perhaps there was a bug in the last one.. nothing.

The only thing which solves the problem is to remove the slider completely from the page, which to me points to an error in the plugin or somehow a change to the theme files, which I haven’t touched (that I’m aware of!) Can anyone help out with diagnosis?
