EZwpthemes - doesn't preview and problems when I activate (10 posts)

    Hi - I'm wondering if anyone can help with this. I downloaded a theme from

    http://www.ezwpthemes.com/templates/little-united-nations.html

    However, I can’t seem to get it to work. I download and unpack the files but can’t get them to preview or activate in either WP 2.9.2 or 2.8.2 my previous version before upgrading. I’m testing them locally on a WAMPServer installation running MySQL v5.1.36, Apache v2.2.11 and PHP v5.3.0

    If I try to preview the site I get a blank page. If I activate it anyway it throws an error complaining about line 1 on the headers.php file which looks OK to me i.e. it looks like other themes which work OK. I can't login as admin to the site after activating this and have to delete the files from the themes folder.

    If I use "View Source" it looks like there's nothing between the <head> and </head> tags and also <body> and </body> tags.

    I left a query on the site of the developers a few weeks back but no replies. I also contacted them.

    I tried other themes from their site - same problem for me. Other themes from other authors work just fine on my local testing setup.

    Any advice ?

    There seems to be two download links. One Blogger and one WordPress. Did you use the WordPress one ?

    Hi - thanks, yes I wondered if maybe I'd got the wrong one. So I went back to make sure. One specifically mentions blogger so I ignored that one and went for the other.

    Can't figure this out at all - all their templates are behaving in exactly the same way for me - nothing in the <head> or <body> tags when I load them and they don't preview.

    I just installed 2 of the themes without a problem on my test install locally
    only difference is I'm using xampp

    Thanks for the info

    That seems odd - wonder if I've got an odd setting locally

    I'll try XAMPP and see if that changes anything - not clear that it should but there's obviously something wrong at my end

    never tried both - probably
    I used to use wamp a lot with mixed results on many levels
    xampp has always been flawless

    Did you find a solution?
    I'm having the same problem here, all the ezwp themes don't work... I test them with easyphp, they work just fine, but after they're uploaded, I just get white screens, at preview mode and after activation. I also asked for help at their site, but had no answer.
    All other themes work great.

    Hi.

    Sadly no I never found a solution - I get exactly the same behaviour as you do with all the EZWpthemes I've tried. All other themes I've tried from elsewhere work great.

    Shame because I like the EZWPThemes. I tried using XAMPP following the discussion with samboll above but it didn't make any difference. I gave up assuming it was something on my local instal but like you I also get the problem when they're uploaded to the live server.
