A couple days ago my website http://www.ivyprepacademy.com went down. I emailed my hosting service (Bluehost) and they gave me directions on how to backup my directory (before fixing a theme I'm using), but I don't seem to have any directory at all!
Where did it go?
If I log into my http://ftp.ivyprepacademy.com account, I see no directories or files. It's just empty. How did I have content up on the website before if it's empty?
I am having trouble understanding what my local files (a random wordpress folder I have on my C drive) have to do with my online content? Everything or nothing? Doesn't my website content link directly to what's on my http://ftp.wordpress.com server? When I log on with Filezilla, I am able to connect successfully through admin@ivyprepacademy.com, but obviously no files or folders are shown either.
In very basic language can someone advise me on how to:
A. Add all necessary folders and files to the server and where to find that content (because I used to have it and now it's missing).
B. Get my site back up and running.
I know this might be quite vague, but I looked for "missing content in wordpress" on Google and found nothing...so this might mean it's a boneheaded mistake and it's an easy fix.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you WordPress community.
