   I'm on WP 2.9.2, I still remember the days when navigation within wp-admin does not involve java(?) and it was fast.

   For some unknown reason, I keep experiencing extreme slowness while doing tasks that involve any screen changes while posting, searching, editing or opening new tabs withing the Admin dashboard.

   The pauses/hangs would last about a minute between the time when I see the screen, and until I can actually do stuff within that screen.

   Because of this, a post that can take 15 minutes to complete can take an hour or more, if it involves going through old posts to add stuff to the current post.

   What can I do to fix this? I'm on the latest Firefox.

   Have you tried:

   - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

   - switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

   And the Admin area uses JavaScript - not Java. :-)
