GC Message Box
[resolved] Extraneous banner instance (8 posts)

Almost works as I expect, thanks, but ..

Having selected 'Just on selected screens', on all screen types except Page and Single Post (article) an instance of the message box appears at the top as well as in the correct place, messing up the website header layout. If repeat is on, multiple copies appear in the header. I would like to be able to use this plugin on Archives and Tags, but have to switch them off for the result to be OK.

This is seen on both WP 3.5.1 (Esplanade theme) and 3.4.2 (Coraline) - i.e. tried on two sites. Neither of these particular sites has an image in the header (and they happen to be on different, but very similar, web hosts).

Any suggestions, or is this a bug? Thanks.

    Thank you for your remark!
We've just tested both themes, and it worked proper without any other plugin.
Could you write me your plugin list with we can test it again?
And could you send us a screenshot about the issue?

Plug-in list for CharityBlog (not purely back-end plug-ins):

    Configurable Tag Cloud
    Contact Form Plugin (BWS)
    Google Analytics for WordPress
    Jetpack by WordPress.com
    jQuery Archive List Widget
    Simply Exclude

I've uploaded a screenshot, taken in Opera,
This is with Enable Repeat selected.

On my other site, there is a background image - as the body text gets shunted down by the banner instance(s), the image becomes wrongly positioned.

Generally, I don't want an instance of the message box appearing in the banner/top of screen, only in the text body.

    Hope that is of use.

I've installed these plugins and themes, but couldn't reproduce the issue.
Could you turn on the GC Message Box again, save the HTML source of the page and send it to me?
It could help us to find the solution.
    Thank you!

The problem is possibly fixed with the new version.

Latest version (1.1.0) installed. Sorry, I don't see any difference.

I have saved the generated source for an instance with GC Message box on repeat, on an Archive. Where should I send it? (Unfortunately I didn't get a forum email notification for your earlier reply.)

    Thanks

Before you send it, try the version 1.1.1. We put a better protection for main loop, the only place, where the message box has to appear.
In case the problem still exists, send us to email address: support@getconversion.net

    Thank you for your help!

This now seems to be working absolutely fine. I thought briefly that it was because I had cleared out some old plug-ins, but that only applies to one of the two sites I am using it on.

Both sites have recently moved from servers using PHP 5.3 to PHP 5.4 Might that have helped?

    Thanks again for your work.
