    RE: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/208537
I often compose a page on PC in .html, delete some parts (including
) then paste into WYSIWYG editor. Often I find extra blank lines in displayed page. There are no inserted paragraph tags, so how/why does this happen?

Pasting content that includes HTML markup into the Visual Editor is a really Bad Idea. Use the HTML tab.

Sorry if I mis worded that.
I DO paste into the HTML mode. I only look like a completely stupid newbie.

Ah - "WYSIWYG editor" normally means the Visual (TinyMCE) Editor.

What are you using to write your HTML markup? Have you tried pasting into a plain text editor first and then re-copying that into WP? Just in case there's anything else being pasted in.

I use the HTML tab all the time but sometimes write my markup in a text editor and than paste it into the tab. To date, I've never had the kind of problem you describe.

WordPress does the same thing to me -- adds extra paragraph tags where I don't want them...

I made a post about it here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/299491?replies=1#post-1170916
