Export from wordpress.com to a custom install (2 posts)

I need to export a blog hosted at wordpress.com to a new install of wordpress 2.7, and I cannot find instructions on how to do it. It has a lot of posts and comments, otherwise I would do it manually. I see that in v2.1 this was possible, but I no longer see the export tool in my dashboard on the wordpress.com blog.

    Thanks for the help,
    Dave

If you don't have Administration > Tools > Export at wordpress.COM then you will need to ask their support department "where is the Export tool?"

Normally, you take the export WXR (XML) file from wordpress.COM and do Administration > Tools > Import > WordPress and export that into your newly installed blog.

    And just in case:
How do I Import a WordPress WXR file when it says it is too large to import?
